Shaniah Lashay

Shaniah Lashay is a versatile performer with extensive experience as a singer, dancer, and actress. Her notable roles include Maybelle in Hairspray, Joanne in Rent, Nya in Pipeline, and Adlean in Robert O’Hara’s Booty Candy. She holds a BFA in Musical Theater from The AMDA College of the Performing Arts and has trained with the first Black ballerinas of Dance Theatre of Harlem. Shaniah has performed in master classes with Broadway artists such as James T. Lane and Kareem Marsh. Her performance highlights include starring as Dorothy in The Wiz, Purlie in Purlie, and dancing in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade. As a leader, Shaniah has served as a dance captain and competed in prestigious competitions like Groove and KAR. After graduation, Shaniah plans to pursue her Broadway dreams and establish a dance school to empower and inspire young dancers of color.
